Dear Filep and iDEALS, being a fan of her accessories since the beginning of her label I didn't want to miss the 1st presentation of Zana Bayne in Paris.
The American designer showcased her aw1314 men's & women's collection entitled 'Collection VI' through an installation of her designs on seethrough mannequins and the projection of a video by Char Alfonzo.
In addition to leather which she had been working with since she started her eponymous label in 2009, Zana added this season some clear vinyl to her very strong fetish s&m inspired signature style pieces.
It's all about straps and buckles with very cool gender-bending sex-couture harnesses, bras, masks, corset belts, chokers, cuffs, headpieces, all handcrafted in New York.
Unfortunately not much of behind the scenes here because of the presentation format, except a great scene when after the event was over the designer, the DJ, the assistant, the PR and I were walking at night in the streets back to the press office carrying clear window dummies 'dressed' in black leather on our shoulders. And this is why all of a sudden there were 3 fierce Zana Bayne creatures standing on a pedestrian crossing ! Don't know why but for some reason people were giving us a funny look.
