Dear iDEALS, I couldn't hesitate posting this wonderful fashion story from the Greek edition of Votre Beaute magazine, starring my friend Mara Desypri.

Mara started out as a model in the early 90's and then followed a photographer's career which she still serves succesfully. For Votre Beaute's December issue, photographer Thanassis Krikis and fashion editor Nicholas Georgiou, created wonderful story, focusing on the timeless beauty, as seen in the late 50s by fashion pioneers like Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Balmain and Balenciaga. Only now, the credits belong to another generation of fine creators, not all of them new though. Some are still relevant...
Thanos Samaras' magic hands are responsible for Mara's ultimate hairstyles. Stellar's make-up is the final touch for a face to be remembered. Timeless beauty that is!!

Dear Filep and iDEALS, Friday evening I made it down to the Fashion Pioneers fashion talk with Nick Knight hosted by Business of Fashion.
Knight, one of the industry’s most respected photographers, founder and director of SHOWstudio.com sat down with BoF founder and editor Imran Amed in London’s Hospital Club and discussed his remarkable career, the future of digital communication as well as the ten years of SHOWstudio.com
Here are some comments by Mr. Knight.
Nick Knight on the state of the industry:
"Ever since I started in photography I wanted to change it.Photography has killed itself off. It has allowed itself to become backward looking.Fashion has been supported by print for the past 80 years. It’s now being supported by another medium.In my opinion fashion film should be non-narrative. The narrative is already imbued in the clothing.There is a sea change ahead.Our society is not well represented in fashion. It should be.None of my children read magazines... Fashion will be shaped by the Internet. Fashion never allows you to rest on your laurels- its always pushing you to move further and further. The fashion industry is so narrow in terms of the shapes, the races. You have to accept alternatives."
Nick Knight advice for aspirants:
"You have to work harder than anyone else and be willing to sacrifice.Heart and mind are the most important tools for imaging-making.”
Nick Knight for Lady Gaga:
"Lady Gaga is an artist that is expanding and pushing her creative boundaries. To be part of that is thrilling.She pushes her creative boundaries. To be part of that is thrilling."

Dear iDEALS, thanks to Kassandra I have documentation of what really happened last night at K44\TORA. Although the photos were sent to me in colour, I decided that I had to turn them into black-n-white, only to hide the sweat coming off our foreheads from the obligatory dancing commands. As result, everybody looks astonishing. I would like to thank everybody for coming (around 500 people), Kostas Argiriou for playing music back-to-back with me, Dimosthenis Elenis and Evi for helping at the door, Holy Moustache for being HOLY and of course Kassandra Powell.
Dear iDEALS, thank you for coming to my party last night. I am sure you had as much fun as I had.

Our philosophy is to put out records and tracks from artists that will help us to built a unique (as unique can be these days) sound. What's important however, is being able to see our releases and our artists connected each other,creating a label sound and atmosphere that we'll make everyone involved feel like "home". Then, the labels will probably have to sort their territories out and try to create as many strong concepts as the industry can afford. You probably agree that Lady Gaga is a strong concept right? The same goes for Metal fans or with the dubstep movement. If labels are creating really strong concepts (such as let's say Motown records did before the greed for more money came in) with their catalogue releases, then, audiences might enjoy to be part of these music communities and follow. Turning your label to a family thing for the artists involved and then releasing records related each other, will make people to pay attention to your musical concept and hopefully they'll follow as they'll feel members of your music community.
So, Silly Boy, what's your label about?
I guess I would say that for now it is only about music. It is family small, independent and based in Athens.
How old is the label anyway?
We're just nine months old with just one official release so far.
Whats the number of artists your represent.
Well, we're just two at the moment. "Sillyboy" is the guy we released his record and we represent him both in terms of publishing and live bookings and Lilis Bros, a dj duo that me and my bro set up 3 years ago.The aim of the label? The philosophy behind it?
We've stated from the very beginning that our main aim is to release music with "soul" (not "soul music" the genre).We also put our "souls" everytime we do something for the label and this is why we choose to release in the best possible format which is vinyl.
Your criteria for choosing whom to represent.
At the moment we only release records from people we are friends with and probably this is our main criteria. For us, it takes many hours of talking, partying and sharing a common taste in music and life in order to release someone's album.
And your best moments so far as a label?
Our first label showcase last September at Reworks festival was a great experience.Sillyboy played his first ever live set there and absolutely smashed it while Lilis Bros attracted a great audience that kept dancing all the way through our dj set.
Who are your favorite artists right now?
We've just received a two track collaboration of our two favorite greek acts. Sillyboy spent a few days in the studio with My Wet Calvin and they recorded two amazing tracks that we hope at being able to release in a 7inch quite soon. One of them can be listened on our mix. Internationally speaking, we like most of the stuff that Wolf + Lamb label from New York releases and a kraut psychedelic project called Zodiac Free Arts Club that will be released on Permanent Vacation label sometime next year. A Greek guy and new friend of ours named Argy is behind it.
What in your opinion, the music indusrty needs at the moment?
Well, that's a difficult question to answer in a few lines but to begin with,a reboot on the industry would be fine i suppose.

Just Gazing records is the label that Greek dj duo, Lilis brothers, found early 2010. Label's debut release is the album "Played" from fellow Athenian producer Sillyboy. Having people as diverse as New York's Wolf + Lamb and London's underground disco legend Richard Sen, supporting this release, the label joined a few months ago the EPM music group in order to gain worldwide digital distribution.
