MATTHEW ZORPAS REPORTS: SKETCHBOOK POP-UP SHOP

Dear Filep and iDEALS,

Tonight i had the privileged to be invited at Sketchbook Pop Up opening Shop in London. Loving the Sketchbook magazine from the first moment and admiring Wafa Al Obaidat (Editor-In-Chief) and Luma Bashmi (Features Editor), I was sure that it would be an amazing evening. My expectations didn't get me wrong. I was amazed by the work done and the inspiring people i was surrounded. 

Celebrating the 50 years of Carnaby Street dedicated to fashion and music, the Sketchbook Magazine team opened tonight its hugely- anticipated Pop-Up-Shop. Bloggers, designers, artists, illustrators, editors, fans, musicians and all key figures in the contemporary fashion and art community gave their presence and support to the new Sketchbook movement. 

The Sketchbook Pop-Up Shop includes a main gallery space and as well several themed rooms with custom made illustrations on the walls, created especially for the event by Sketchbook magazine contributors. Also two screening rooms showcasing Sketchbook TV episodes and other short films. Moreover, the Sketchbook Pop-Up Shop will be selling several limited edition prints and illustrations as well as kitsch one-off art pieces by a select group of Sketchbook contributors.

The Sketchbook Pop-Up Shop will run for a limited period of 3 weeks and it will hosting exciting lectures, panel discussions, workshops and gigs.

MATTHEW ZORPAS REPORTS: DEUTSCHE BORSE PHOTOGRAPHY PRIZE FOR 2010

Dear Filep and iDeals, 

Celebrating its 14th year, The Photographer's Gallery presents the annual Deutsche Borse Photography Prize for 2010. The prize seeks to acknowledge todays leading international photographers and artists and to raise the profile of photographers within the visual arts. The four shortlisted artists for this year's Prize are: 

Anna Fox for her Exhibition Cockroach Diary & Other Stories at Ffotogallery. Zoe Leonard for her retrospective exhibition Zoe Leonard:Photographs. Sophie Ristelhueber (has been awarded the 2010 prize) for her retrospective Sophie Ristelhueber at the Jeu de Paume and Dovonan Wylie for his exhibition MAZE 2007/08.
