Dear iDEALS, it was such a great surprise meeting my friend Foivos Papadopoulos today. It has been maybe two years since we last seen each other.
Foivos was part of the unforgettable MEDEA by Dimitris Papaioannou, two years ago. I am posting two fantastic photographs from the wonderful performance, courtesy of Rene Habermacher.

Before going full-time into fashion design, Petar Petrov made costumes for advertising campaigns and music videos, working at Wendy & Jim, "Be A Good Girl" and "Pirouzi.
" Petar Petrov's menswear consists of contemporary sportswear mixed with splashes of neon and the occasional graphic or smiley face to create a fashionable "club kids" vibe.
Dear iDEALS, when the idea was on the table, everyone was in. Our mutual question was: " How will the Louvre appeal to us, as adults?".

On Nov. 7th Amateurboyz doing their third ENCORE, Black Meteoric Star and Assume Vivid Astro Focus will be here in Athens for one of the last shows under this project.
Facebook page event ( http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=185538987526 ) Gavin ( http://www.myspace.com/gavinrussom ) launched B.M.S. in 2006 as a channel for his love of dance music and dance culture The sonic aesthetic was specifically inspired by the electronic music produced in Detroit and Chicago during the mid 1980’s and largely released on the TRAX label.
This manifests itself in a minimal but psychedelic arrangements, and a soundtrack like continuity. In recorded form Gavin will be distributing the Black Meteoric Star as a series of 3 12″s released on the New York City based label DFA beginning in late 2008. Each track in the series is like a chapter in a story book and the overall story is a journey through night.
Assume Vivid Astro Focus ( http://gallery.me.com/astrofocus http://www.cheapcream.com/ ) and BMS joined forces to present this music live.
Our plan is to capitalize on our mutual loves (both of the aforementioned early electronic dance music and of deep psychedelic saturation) to create an audio-visual landscape to engage the public in the story that this music tells. We do not conceive of the event as a spectacle, to be observed from outside, but rather as a celebration during which each person is a participant. For this reason we wish to place ourselves within, or to re-create on site, a nightclub atmosphere, with DJing and dancing preceding and following the Black Meteoric Star music.
The event will include special lighting and video projections, as well as spatial and visual enhancements (such as balloons and rainbow vision glasses) created by AVAF. Gavin will perform the entire 12″ series, creating extended versions of each track and re-composing the whole live.
This collaboration debuted in April of 2008 in Paris in a more subdued version as part of the event SUPER#3, organized by label Dalbin, in which 3 visual artists were paired with three music acts from DFA. Since then BMS and avaf have made joint presentations at the Sao Paulo Biennial, Moma NY’s Poprally and Donau Music Festival in Vienna. Warm up set by the Echo Volt Djs ( http://echovoltrecords.com/ ) aka Dynamons and Jimmy jib Guests will receive a limited-edition mask designed by assume vivid astro focus to wear at the event.

DYSFASHIONAL considers fashion in the widest sense of the word. Rather than exhibiting clothes and styles, it showcases the broad range of materials that turn fashion into a way of aesthetical and identitarian exploration. Staged as a construction site,
DYSFASHIONAL does not define fashion but tackles the seemingly frivolous yet vital realm of fashion by examining the approach of designers and artists from various backgrounds and invites us on a striking journey, bringing us closer to a world in which the protagonists are not the objects but the creative process itself.
DYS- indicates a disturbance, a discord within the system. The idea at the outset is to verify the dysfunctional dimension of fashion, that is to say, the elements that resist and clash with a "literal" definition of this world, as a simple collection of garments and accessories, as a production system for commercial objects, images and products to do with identity.
Fashion designers have been invited to present projects, which reflect their imagination and creative universe, rather than their collections. Through these environments, objects and films, a mutli-layered horizon constructs itself, where fashion appears beyond the objects which materialise it, as a field for experimentation or a state of sensibility in the making.
The project will be completed by PARASITE, a hybrid space somewhere between shop and gallery, devoted to emerging artists and designers who explore the boundaries of contemporary fashion, and P.S, a show which invites choreographers to transfigure the posture imposed by clothes: the performance becomes a means to reveal how clothing shapes the body, determines our gestures and defines our identity.
DYSFASHIONAL is not only a barometer for experimentation between art and fashion, but is also a bridge between Paris and Berlin, two capitals of creativity.
