Dear iDEALS, Rick Owens is a designer who needs no introduction. He entered the fashion scene like a matador , . A rather strong one!! Apart from his own brand, he gave also life to Revillon, Paris’ one of the oldest FUR Houses. My closest friend attended to one of his shows and cried from happiness, model Jade Parfitt shaved her long blond hair to fit in Mr Owens “picture” FOR a season’s show.
There must be a reason for all these, don't you think?
Apart from the interview, I was provided with some images, never revealed before to the public. In Rick’s words:’”The pictures are of my private offices, gym and the factory in Italy...” The best is that I have 20 pictures I have from the "pole dance project" , never revealed to the public.Ricks portrait is in there. This interview is dedicated to his followers.
FilepMotwary: What seemed ideal and important to you as a young man that no longer seem quite so pressing?
RickOwens: I suppose feeling included was more important to me then. Or finding my place. I'm really lucky to have found something to do and to have love in my life.
FilepMotwary: What do you long for. Are there times in your life that you said" fuck it! Is it all there is?"
RickOwens: Absolutely not! I think people might be too concerned with what they can get rather than what they can do. I would feel greedy to want more than what I've got. I admit I get impatient when I don't get results fast enough, or frustrated when the wheels get stuck, but I'm working on that....I think it's great to reach a point where you realize " this IS all there is- and it's enough". But I suppose that's easy for me to say...
FilepMotwary: I confess that when you took over at "Revillon" I didn't know what to expect. The result was of course a surprise not only to me but for all the important people in fashion in terms of "the red thin line between Rick Owens and Revillon"..Where you afraid of not accomplishing the mission?
RickOwens: The results of the mission are still debatable..... There's a small structure at Revillon that is just starting to develop. I'm giving it a push in a new direction but it will inevitably find a life of its own. I don't even bother to give it a different identity- I'm just enjoying my fantasy of what it should be. Besides, my aesthetic is so narrow, I wouldn't know how to create a different character- it would seem insincere. I didn't do it as a marketing exercise, but as a personal delight.
FilepMotwary: What is your idea of an important achievement? Do you cry if you fail?
RickOwens: I just did an event at Pitti ImagGine in Florence that allowed me to do a personal installation, a retrospective installation, my first men’s defile and a furniture installation. Being able to have everything expressed at the same time at a nice loud volume like that was pretty great. I didn't have to cry this time. At the beginning when I started to do shows, I would get kind of depressed after- a result of not having felt ready and slightly disappointed with the results, and certainly a chemical reaction from build up adrenaline. I learned from that.
FilepMotwary: Is there a music album that has a great effect on you when you listen to? For myself, every time I hear Laurie Anderson's "same time tomorrow" I become really productive just to be the opposite of what she say’s. It’s a song I love actually…
RickOwens: Preparing for a show, everyone on the crew gets sick of listening to Julie London all day. I can't help it, there's something so soothing and rational about her calm precise diction that nothing's worth getting upset about. I still listen to the Sisters of Mercy, remembering all the confusion of my youth and feeling emotion and wonder at listening to it on such different terms now....And the final act of Richard Strauss's Salome always sweeps me out into outer space.....if the moment's right I still get tears in my eyes......grim tenderness, unrequited love, self destructive revenge-all my favorites....
FilepMotwary: Do you feel that there are designers who were made off with your breakthroughs in menswear and claimed as their own designs?
RickOwens: No clue…
FilepMotwary: Are there any future projects you would like to share with me"?
RickOwens: Opening a store this year in the Palais Royale, Paris
FilepMotwary: Do you like Un nouveau iDEAL?
RickOwens: Haven't gotten a chance to look at it yet, but I will now...

summer beauty is night most. No doubt beautiful , jet-black bright dark moonlit night night, also has uncounted firefly sons dance trippingly. Be also having one two fireflies son in night, be flashing with the dim gleam in flying , this scene even if being a fine drizzle's be charming.
